An air-to-water system should fit the place where it will operate. Start with your room’s humidity, temperature, power supply and actual drinking-water demand.
10L and 20L models are in production and available from stock. Confirm the unit configuration, current allocation and delivery to your island with our Hilo team.
01 · Climate
Measure where it will run.
Hawaii has strong differences between windward, leeward and upland locations. An air-conditioned room can also be drier than the outdoor air. Use readings from the intended room, rather than an island-wide average.
The supplied A10 and A20 references rate production at 30°C / 86°F and 80% relative humidity. They are model ratings, not a promise of 10 or 20 liters every day in your home.
Match voltage, frequency, plug and circuit requirements to the unit’s nameplate. A 220V / 50Hz factory manual does not confirm compatibility with your Hawaii electrical supply. Heating, cooling and water production all use power.
04 · Ownership
Plan for filters and cleaning.
Ask about the matching filter set, availability, cleaning procedures and local service before purchase. A powered AWG can supplement water planning; producing water during an outage requires an appropriately sized power source.
Compare electricity cost using water and power you actually measured. Hawaiian Electric publishes different rates for different islands and customer classes.
Your running costMeasure first.
Enter energy and water measured over the same 24 hours.
The starting rate is Hawaiian Electric’s 2025 Hawaii Island residential average, 45.81¢/kWh, not a current tariff. Replace it with your bill rate. This estimates electricity only; filters, maintenance and the equipment cost are additional. It does not predict production.
How does an atmospheric water generator make water?
It draws in air, cools it to collect moisture as condensation, and treats the collected water through the unit’s filtration system. The water-making process needs electricity, airflow and suitable temperature and humidity.
Should I choose the A10 or A20, and which offers hot water?
The compact A10 is a countertop starting point for a home or small workspace. The floor-standing A20 suits shared spaces and provides hot and cold dispensing. Their rated daily outputs are up to 10 and 20 liters respectively at 30°C / 86°F and 80% relative humidity. Choose using your actual drinking-water demand, available space and room conditions.
Daily output varies with temperature, relative humidity, airflow and operation. The A10 and A20 ratings use 30°C / 86°F and 80% relative humidity; cooler or drier conditions can reduce production. Measure the intended room and compare actual water collected over a full day before planning around a daily quantity.
Does 10L or 20L describe production or tank capacity?
These model ratings describe liters produced per day under the stated conditions, rather than the amount stored in the tank. The supplied A10 manual lists a 5-liter storage tank. A20 tank and dispensing specifications should be matched to the actual equipment revision.
Will it work in my part of Hawaii or an air-conditioned room?
Evaluate the air where the machine will operate. Windward, leeward and upland locations can differ, and air conditioning may make a room cooler and drier. Record indoor temperature and relative humidity at several times of day, then discuss those readings with AquaAloha. An outdoor island average alone cannot predict indoor water production.
Can an A10 or A20 supply all the water for a house?
Select the A10 and A20 around drinking-water use and the output achievable at your site. Their daily ratings do not establish capacity for showers, laundry or whole-house demand. For a larger application, share your required liters per day and site conditions so a commercial system can be assessed.
Atmospheric operation collects moisture from the air and needs electricity and clear airflow. Some configurations also support an external water source. Confirm the operating mode and setup for your exact unit before making any connections.
Use a stable, protected location with clear air intake and exhaust, following the unit-matched placement instructions. Avoid enclosing the machine or blocking its vents. Check room temperature and humidity at that location. Any outdoor, RV or boat installation needs a separate assessment of power, ventilation and protection from weather and movement.
Confirm the exact voltage, frequency, plug and circuit requirements before connection. The supplied A10 manual references 115V / 60Hz and an operating range of 110–120V. A20 documentation includes different electrical configurations; a 220V / 50Hz factory reference alone does not establish compatibility. Match the actual nameplate and have any electrical adaptation assessed by a qualified installer.
How much electricity does each liter of water cost?
Measure electricity consumed in kWh and liters collected over the same period. Electricity cost per liter = kWh consumed × your electricity rate ÷ liters collected. Include the operating modes you use, such as heating or cooling where fitted. Filters, maintenance and equipment costs are additional; rated power alone does not predict the cost per liter.
Match the owner guide to your model, electrical label and filter configuration. Follow its transport-rest, setup, cleaning and filter-flushing steps before drinking. The supplied A20-B reference calls for keeping the unit upright for 24 hours after transport. Confirm the first-use procedure for your equipment revision rather than borrowing another model’s flushing quantity or settings.
Can it run on solar or backup power during an outage?
Water production needs electricity. A solar, battery or generator system must be sized for the actual unit’s voltage, frequency, operating load, startup requirements and intended runtime. Have the power setup assessed for the selected configuration. Emergency planning should also include stored water, measured production and filter service; rated daily output alone is not a complete backup-water plan.
AquaAloha units use model-specific filtration and treatment. Correct first-use flushing, cleaning and timely filter changes are part of normal operation. Ask for the water-quality report that applies to your model and its test conditions. A product brochure or a filter photograph alone is not a water-quality test.
PAC (composite activated carbon cartridge): every 6 months; UF (ultrafiltration membrane cartridge): every 6 months; CB (compressed activated carbon cartridge): every 6 months. These are recommended intervals; use, air quality and the matching instructions may require earlier service.
What is the replacement schedule for the A20 RO version?
PPF (pp sediment cartridge): every 6 months; GAC (granular activated carbon pre-filter): every 6 months; T33 (activated carbon post-filter): every 6 months; RO (reverse-osmosis membrane): every 12 months; BIO (mineralization cartridge): every 12 months. These are recommended intervals; use, air quality and the matching instructions may require earlier service.
Can I use the earlier A20-B UF filter set in an A20 RO unit?
The earlier UF reference and the RO version have different cartridge layouts. The earlier A20-B reference lists SFT, PPF, GAC, UF and ELE; the RO version lists PPF, GAC, T33, RO and BIO. Match installed labels, connectors and the unit revision before ordering. Do not substitute one complete set for the other based only on the A20 model name.
What should I do after a filter change or a long shutdown?
Follow the matching manual’s shutdown, cleaning, installation, flushing and restart procedure. Disconnect power before service, and use the prescribed procedure for your equipment revision. Check whether a filter reminder needs resetting and record each replacement date. For a long shutdown, ask for the restart instructions for your exact unit before using stored water.
What are the consumable-set dimensions and shipping weights?
The supplied A10 full-set reference is 210 × 87 × 200 mm and 850 g, including three water cartridges and one air filter. The earlier A20 packing reference uses the same dimensions and an estimated weight of about 1.42 kg, which needs weighing. Those A20 figures are not yet confirmed for the RO set. A freight quote also needs outer-carton dimensions, gross weight, sets per carton and any pallet.
Why is water production low, or what if the machine shows an error?
Check the room’s temperature and humidity, clear airflow, selected operating mode and scheduled filter service against the matching manual. If the issue persists, send AquaAloha the model and nameplate photo, error code, room readings and a description of the problem. Stop use and follow the manual’s safety instructions if there is a leak, unusual smell or electrical fault; internal repairs should be handled by qualified service personnel.
Are the A10 and A20 available, and do you deliver to my island?
Both models are in production and have stock available, confirmed by AquaAloha on October 7, 2026. Ask our Hilo team to confirm current allocation, filter and electrical configuration, and delivery options for your island and ZIP code. We do not currently provide repairs or on-site maintenance. For AquaAloha products purchased from us, support is limited to replacement-part options, subject to compatibility and availability. We cannot service machines purchased from another supplier. Ask for written parts and warranty terms for the exact unit before purchase; no warranty duration or coverage should be assumed. Machine stock is on Hawaii Island (the Big Island), and shipping is additional at actual cost.
Can AquaAloha provide a larger or customized system?
Commercial and project systems are listed in the product range, with reference layouts and specifications. Share daily water demand, site temperature and humidity, available power, installation space and intended use. Capacity, storage, dispensing, layout and project-specific customization need engineering and quotation confirmation.
